My Reflections

At the beginning I had a very hard time getting into Jane Eyre.  It took me a long time to actually start enjoying the book.  I would say it was somewhere around chapter 11 when Jane first starts her teaching at Thronfield.  After that the book flew by for me and I really enjoyed reading it.  One thing that I really liked about this book was this it is told from a first person point of view.  There isn't some random narrator telling you about Jane Eyre's life, the reader actually gets to her the story from Jane's point of view.  This allows the reader to really understand what Jane was feeling or experiencing.  I also like how it includes two different genres.  It combines Romance and Mystery very nicely.  You have the romance between Jane and Rochester and you also have the mystery of why all of these strange things are happening at Thronfield.  I also like how the book ends.  It doesn't leave any loose ends for the reader to be confused or still pondering, every thing is answered.  After doing some research about Charlotte Bronte, I began to realize that Jane Eyre is basically the story of her life, from the schools she attended to the ending romance.  Overall this is a very well written book and if you can get past the first little bit, I think everyone will really enjoy this book.
